D’Milikah Splashes on the Waterfront

With Summer nearly here, guests were invited to D’Milikah Splashes on the Waterfront,” a swimwear runway fashion show presented by D’Milikah Swimwear on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. The location for this event and show was outdoors at Nick’s Riverside Grill at Washington Harbour in Georgetown, and the event was hosted by Sunni from 95.5 radio.

The sun was setting and the anticipation was rising in seeing the fashion show. Guests crowded the bar and area surrounding the runway route, and there was a taste of Brazil in DC with Nick’s drink special the “D’Milikah Blue Brazilian Caipirinha.” Before the fashion show a couple women performed music and provided support while a couple men performed Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music, and is sometimes thought of as a game.

It was showtime. The models walked a different kind of runway route going from a boat off the waterfront, across a boardwalk and down brick steps to the patio area of Nick's Riverside Grill, where guests and the public viewed the show. D'Milikah swimwear brought to the runway new prints and styles of the High Summer Collection line "Blurry Feminine." Earlier this year D’Milikah Swimwear was exclusively selected to be part of the Official 2013 Grammy Award’s Celebrity Gift Lounge and Oscar Nominee experience, and it's wonderful that their latest collection was brought to the DC area. There was also a sneak peak of the latest addition to the High summer Collection of the Male Swim Trunk line by D’Milikah. Emily Gonzaga, the designer noted "it is my honor to have you and your guests at my show!
