March 17, 2012 - I was excited to hear that an Elie Tahari fashion show was being held at Saks Fifth Avenue in Tysons Galleria in McLean. I met Elie Tahari when he opened a store in Tysons Galleria and had an opening celebration at the store. I also photographed Elie's show last fall at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, including photographing the behind the scenes backstage of the show and helping with an interview of Elie Tahari by MyDCStyle.
Arriving to the event at Saks, it is obvious that the attention to making it a great event is observed and executed well. It's actually quite a production for a store to have an event like this as a runway is setup and chairs for the audience, then there is a step and repeat, a DJ, appetizers, and at times hair and makeup services and even chocolate was offered. These events attract a lot of customers and media alike. It's exciting to see what's in season. Here's a taste of it with some pictures I took at the event.
March 14, 2012 - Although Photoshop World (PSW) has been going on for many years twice a year (Orlando and Vegas), for the first time PSW came to Washington DC! Yet before PSW actually starts on March 24th, they had to have a PSW Reception. It was cool that they had a reception to welcome people to Photoshop World and allow people to ramp up to PSW weekend.
Photoshop World offers three days top-notch training with classes from renowned experts in the fields of Photoshop, photography and lighting and an incredible experience to enhance your skills and help take your work to new levels!
I was able to stop by briefly where they had the reception at FotoDC in Adams Morgan, DC. They had artwork from various instructors posted on the walls and a monitor showing some of the things to be expected revolving around Photoshop World.
March 11, 2012 - It's not every day I get to go up on a roof in the heart of DC and do a photo shoot, and so I was glad to be able to do one with my model friend Masha. The weather had been getting warmer, but it was still a bit nippy and windy on this particular day. It's not always easy coordinating schedules and we also had a friend of Masha to assist us with styling and lighting. We had poured through some fashion magazines and was inspired. One of the looks we wanted to do involved just a white sports jacket, white shorts and heels, and it was white hot! Here are a few pictures from that shoot.
