Swim at Your Own Risk

August 22, 2014 - Slick branding, design and style went hand in hand with the celebration of the Karla Colletto X Design Army 'Swim at Your Own Risk' swimwear collection. Add in models from T.H.E Artist Agency, a cool atmosphere of an evening soiree at a pool, and you have the makings of a fashionably stylish evening. Mixing in the right music to set the mood and some cookie pops and drinks, guests enjoyed a leisurely time. To help capture the evening and to have something to remember it, guests could have their picture taken by a photo booth. All the ingredients for a successful celebration were here and here's my proof in some pictures I took there.

Polo on the Mall

August 14, 2014 - When you hear the word polo, you probably don't think of it being played on the National Mall, but it happened. On a multi-use field just behind the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, a crowd gathered to watch a polo match.

I had some time to kill before going to play volleyball in the area, so I brought along my DSLR camera to take a few pictures of the polo match. With the match being on a field surrounded by cars and a fence, I wanted to experiment with my photo editing to minimize them. Yet it was cool to see the Washington Monument in the background of this polo match. Here are some of my favorite shots from the match.

Montauk on M Street in Georgetown DC

August 13, 2014 - I was booked to cover an event called Montauk on M Street for Sip With Socialites (SWS), and they were raising awareness and funds for Girls Health Ed. The venue for this event is one of the nicest rooftops in DC, especially because of the views of Georgetown and the skyline of Rosslyn across from the Potomac River. Montauk refers to a hamlet located in the town of East Hampton in Suffolk County, New York. So in that spirit, SWS wanted a Montauk on M Street theme, and guests were encouraged to wear Beach Chic attire. After all, it was meant to be a Montauk style kind of event. I enjoyed taking pictures as guests enjoyed drinks and socializing on a beautiful night for a cause. There was a prize for the best dressed gentleman and lady at the event, and you can see their winning attire. I also happened to capture a guest fulfilling an ALS ice bucket challenge. Although the location was relatively far from a beach, we did what we could and enjoyed the evening.
