2012 VITHAYA PHOTOGRAPHY YEAR IN REVIEW

The year 2012 has been filled with many great moments and I was glad to be able to capture them photographically. I'm thankful to everyone who helped make all these things a reality. With so many memorable events, it was hard to select moments to include in my 2012 review, so I chose two for each month. These events held special meaning to me professionally as well as personally. 2/7/12: Crystal Couture - Fashion Event and Runway Shows in Crystal City, Arlington, VA

3/8/12: GameChange DC Premiere at the Newseum

3/14/12: PhotoShop World DC - Washington Convention Center - First ever PhotoShop World in DC (also held in Orlando and Vegas). I was hired to cover their entire event

4/14/12: Fashion for Paws at National Building Museum in DC - Sixth Annual Fashion Event and Runway Show with Ashlan Gorse (Hostess) and Marie Osmond (Chairwoman)

4/28/12: Redskins Draft Day - DC welcomes new Redskins team members including Robert Griffin III

5/2/12: Izzy - Early picture of our Boxer named Izzy (Born 2/22/12 and arrived at her new home 4/20/12)

5/15/12: G.I. Film Festival in DC - Brandon Millet and Laura Law-Millet pose here with Joe Mantegna and Pat Sajak was also in attendance

October-November-December 2012 Summary

Work and life has been incredibly busy that I hardly have time to blog, but I hope to get back to it soon. I'm sure people can relate and understand. 

My 2012 Spring/Summer Summary - Autumn Falls In

After being one of the official photographers for covering the Photoshop World conference in Washington DC, things got crazy busy. I'm sure many people can relate to becoming increasingly busier as Spring rolls around and even though there is still work in the Summer for me, it's also a time to try and have more fun and go on vacation. Even if it's just a short trip or a "staycation," I have to do something to keep my life in balance.

I wanted to highlight some activities from Spring and Summer of 2012.

April 7 - Photo Shoot for Ink Cosmetics

April 14, 2012 - Fashion for Paws 6th Annual Runway Show at the National Building Museum in DC

April 25 - Grammys on The Hill at the Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel in DC

April 28 - Redskins Draft Day Party at FedEx Field

May 5 - Gold Cup with Becky's Fund tent

May 14-20 - GI Film Festival (GIFF)

June 10 - Jason & Alesha's Wedding - I had the pleasure of photographing my friend Jason's wedding at Strong Mansion in Dickerson, MD. I've known Jason for a few years and have been there for some important moments in his life, and was glad to be there and capture another important moment.

The Strong Mansion location is an absolutely gorgeous venue to have a wedding and reception. It was a beautiful day, but it was also hot and sunny. It was a wonderful ceremony and it was nice to stay outdoors under a huge tent as the sun set.
