June 13, 2014 - The Front Row Runway Show at Bethesda
Row is a highly anticipated and exciting annual event featuring Bethesda
Row’s top fashion retailers showcasing their stylized looks for
Spring/Summer. It's their version of Fashion Week. Normally the event is
held out in the open on Bethesda Lane, but with the chance of inclement
weather, tents were set up and tivoli lights were strung across them.
There was a VIP guest meet and greet from 5:00-6:30pm of Maria
Menounos, as she signed her new book "The Everygirl’s Guide to Diet
& Fitness." The book is available for purchase at Barnes &
Noble. There was a reception at Redwood Restaurant and Bar before the
runway show.
There were also beauty lounges, fashion
sketching, a photo booth (Onomonomedia). Throughout the day there were trunk shows and
sales as part of the event.
At 7:30pm The Front Row Runway Show
presented it's Fall/Summer 2014 Lineup. Featured designs for Fall were

June 12, 2014 - As part of The Front Row at Bethesda Row in Maryland, I watched the film Versailles
'73: American Runway Revolution. The website for this film says "Not
many moments in life change the course of history, shatter the status
quo and usher in a paradigm shift. But on November 28, 1973 at the
Chateau de Versailles, such a moment took place."
That day the French haute couture designers Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Hubert de Givenchy, Pierre Cardin and Emmanuel Ungaro were pitted against American designers Anne Klein, Stephen Burrows, Oscar de la Renta and Halston in a runway presentation. With an audience of royalty, millionaires and celebrities, it was a "battle" of fashion prominence, and the designs and the models who wore them made fashion history.
Although this film has been around since 2012 and has won numerous film festival awards, this night was the DC area premiere of it, and it marks a pivotal point in runway fashion history. I was impressed with this film and it's production quality. Allowing those who were there at that time to speak about their experiences told the story of what happened in a personable way, as unique as their personality and character. It's a story that reminds us that it's all about the fashion and how the designers and models present it that makes an impact in our hearts, making a difference from the inside-out.

June 6, 2014 - I checked out some cars that were part of the
goldRush Rally. The cars were parked along Connecticut Ave in NW DC,
in front of a new restaurant to the area called The Gryphon. I only had a few minutes to take some pictures before I had to go somewhere, but it was cool to see the cars. It reminded me of The Fast and The Furious movie series. It certainly is a lifestyle. I don't have a car like the ones in these movies, but it's is an interesting culture. As a photographer I'm all about learning more about other cultures. Maybe someday I'll get more into car photography, and I have visited the Washington Auto Show several times.
GoldRush Rally is an automotive lifestyle rally, and it's also a public event attracting prominent guests. This year the tour in the United States went from May 31st to June 7th, 2014, taking participants on the road from Las Vegas, Park City, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, DC and ending in New York for the finale.
