Georgetown got a dose of
celebrity sightings and a massive crowd gathered around the Georgetown
AMC Loews movie theater on Friday June 21, 2013 for the DC premiere of White
House Down starring Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal and
Joey King. This is Channing's first public appearance since becoming a
Dad and he was happy to see his costars and the adoring fans. In this
Columbia Pictures release of White House Down, Capitol Policeman John
Cale (Channing Tatum) was denied his dream job of being in the Secret
Service and protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Dismayed by
the rejection and in not wanting to let his little daughter down with
the news, John is able to pull some strings to get a tour of the White
House with his daughter Emily (Joey King). While on the tour, the White
House is taken over by a heavily trained and armed paramilitary group.
As the nation's government reels from the attack and with time running
out, it's up to John to save the president, his daughter and the nation.
Before the white carpet appearance, some guests were able to attend a
Mamarazzi® reception at Mate restaurant next door to the AMC Georgetown
Theater, which was hosted by The Moms and Equinox Fitness. The
restaurant was packed as guests enjoyed appetizers and drinks and photo
opportunities in front of a step and repeat. After the white carpet
appearance, guests with tickets to the movie premiere filled a theater
auditorium and enjoyed seeing and hearing the cast answer questions, and
then there were more photo opportunities afterward. It was a beautiful
and memorable night in the nation's capital, when the cast of White House Down came into town. White House Down opens June 28.
