Dami and the Cherry Blossoms

April 11, 2014 - It was an early morning trek to the tidal basin to capture the beauty of Dami and the Cherry Blossoms in DC. With the advent of Spring and the warmer weather, the gift of these blossoms annually bloom to bring much attention, wonder and joy to our nation's capital. The cherry blossoms only appear for a short time, and they are a reminder of how precious and fleeting our lives are. While we are here, may we enjoy what we have and feel blessed to have seen and lived to experience and tell of the beauty we beheld in life. -Vithaya

Luke’s Wings Hero Gala featuring Fashion Takes Flight

March 29, 2014 - The Luke’s Wings Hero Gala featuring Fashion Takes Flight was held at The Ritz-Carlton in Washington, DC, presented by Lockheed Martin, Kessler Lending Advisors and Capitol File Magazine.

The event kicked-off at 6:30 p.m. where VIP guests enjoyed a private cocktail reception with event hosts, honored guests, media, government leadership, and corporate sponsors. Following the reception, there was a three-course dinner served to guests. The runway show featured national and local designers showcasing active duty members of all branches of the military, wounded warriors and World War II veterans.

Luke’s Wings is an organization dedicated to the support of service members who have been wounded in battle. Recognizing the immediate need for families to be with their loved ones at such a difficult time, Luke’s Wings provides families with the means to visit during the service member’s hospitalization and rehabilitation. By purchasing travel agency services and travel tickets for loved ones, Luke’s Wings provides an immediate and invaluable service to the families of our men and women at arms while also helping to encourage and motivate the service member’s recovery.
