Luke's Wings and Fashion Takes Flight Hits It Out of the Ballpark - On February 4, 2012, the 4th annual high energy fashion show featuring models and military service personnel rocked the Stars and Stripes VIP Club at Nationals Park. Some of the District's freshest talent and retailers were part of a roster which included Streets of Georgetown, Walish Gooshe, Nam Nguyen, Ella Rue and Donovan England. Washingtonians are known for their philanthropic pursuits and fashion has an ever-growing voice in the District, and it's a great lineup in bringing these together to support an organization that assists families of those who serve.

Guests enjoyed the open bars serving Peroni and cocktails by Van Gogh Imports which were crafted specifically for Fashion Takes Flight. Gourmet hors d’oeuvres were passed. Guests mingled among a fashionable crowd in a unique venue in our nation's capital, while listening to tunes ushered out by Deejay Neekola. Heated balconies allowed guests to check out views of the park before and after the runway show. There was also a photobooth and roving photographers capturing the evening. January 30, 2012 - The Washington Auto Show runs January 27 to February 5, 2012. I try to attend it every year as it's fun and cool to see all the cars and the celebrities too. This year I was able to meet JR Martinez from Dancing With The Stars.

A Chinese New Year Celebration, Mandarin Oriental Style

January 25, 2012 - The Chinese Year 4710 is the Year of the Dragon and is considered the most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. It began on January 23rd, 2012, and so the Mandarin Oriental hotel and General Manager Amanda Hyndman invited guests in celebrating this year.
